Hey everyone!! Writing this blog has been invaluable to getting my creative juices flowing, so sincerest thanks to you all for reading. I have always loved art. I'm sure I got that from my mother. I remember growing up and her showing me her watercolor pieces. She mostly did flowers and they were just gorgeous. I was never one of those people who got deep into art, like "I painted this piece because the black represents loneliness but the stars represent hope". I enjoyed doing art because it is fun. If you appreciate art on a deeper level, that's great! It was just never me. A perfect example of this is from high school. I applied to be a part of gifted and talented art program, twice. This program wanted you to get philosophical about your art and why you've done this or that. For the interview portion, they asked why I made a certain piece. My response was basically "I was bored over spring break". Needless to say, I didn't more on to the next round. The next year, I decided to try it again. This time, I was ready. I had a "deep" explanation for my work and made it through to the next round. The final round was a group interview. I thought I nailed it buttt I didn't get picked. Anyway, I continued art in college taking a few classes here any there. It wasn't until a few months ago that I realized I really missed it. I don't have space for an easel, so I came up with an alternative. Make-up! It relaxes me so much and it really feels just like I'm painting. It's just a different canvas. Full disclosure, I'm actually quite nervous to even be sharing this. This is something I've held off writing about for a few months to see if it was something I was going to actually keep up with. So, I'm going to start blogging about my make-up madness and some looks I do. Some looks are more practical than others. I'm still learning / practicing so things aren't anywhere close to perfect. I'm not a MUA (obviously). I'm also growing out my eyebrows, so they're a total mess. Maybe I shouldn't be sharing these... haha... but it's something I love and I want to share things I love with you all. So, without further adieu (and before I change my mind and delete this post haha) here are some looks I've created recently. I haven't linked any products or said which products I used for a look. I didn't see myself incorporating that into my blog when I first started playing with different looks, so I didn't write it down. If you are interested in knowing what I've used, please let me know and I'll be happy to let you know. Any future posts about make-up will be much more informative. I should have a what NOT to do post soon. Seriously, every time I do my makeup, research, watch a video on tips, I realize there is something else I'm doing wrong.
Anyone else recently re-discover their love for something? An old hobby? I'd love to hear your story! Thanks for reading. xoxo, Chelsea
