I love crafting! I'm very lucky that a group of my friends do as well! This weekend we created burlap wreaths. They were SUPER easy and only required a few materials. For mine I used: 1 roll of plain burlap 1 roll of printed burlap 1 wooden letter 1 wreath wire outline *optional, wire Click "Read More" for full instructions on how to make a beautiful burlap wreath! How to create:I've included a diagram above so you can see exactly what I'm referring to when I mention a section number. To start, simply tie the burlap on the outside rung. Pull approximately a 1-2 inch loop of burlap through section 1, skip section 2 and pull a 1-2 inch loop through section 3. Scrunch those two loops together. Move back to section 1 and pull another 1-2 inch loop, skip section 2 and pull a 1-2 inch loop through section 3. Continue around the wreath. Continue until section 1 and section 3 are entirely covered. I used the entire roll of burlap. When completed it should look something like this: The next step is to add the printed burlap. You can do this a few different ways. You can pull 1-2 inch loops through section 2, scrunch the burlap and continue around the wreath OR you can attach using wire. To do it using wire attach the burlap at the start, pinch a section 1-2 inches down, wrap wire and tie to wreath. Here is how it looks adding the printed burlap: Continue around until the entire section 2 is covered. I only used about 1/2 of the roll of printed burlap. When finished it will look something like this: All that is left to do now is add the wooden letter. Mine came with nails attached to the back. I used these to wrap wire around and secured it to the wreath. The great thing about this craft is it is so easily modified. Add ornaments for Christmas, leaves for fall, Ghosts for Halloween. It is pretty much a blank canvas. I personally love the burlap with the writing. It reminds me of Victoria Grayson's chair from the TV show Revenge. I adore that chair. And that's it! So simple.I'd love to hear from you! How did you tweak the steps? What accents did you add?
xoxo, Wilk
